The drop test is performed manually by actually dropping watches. A test machine cannot be used for such a test, because there is no way to control or reproduce all of the countless variables involved when an object falls.The cushioning system of the watch also provide outstanding resistance to vibration. In the past, vibration resistance was tested by fixing the watch to the axle of a motorcycle. Today, a special test machine is used to subject the watch to vibration for 24 hours to check its ability to withstand such treatment.The unique G-SHOCK design also provides it with the ability to withstand the rigors of water resistance testing up to 20 atmospheres, which is equivalent to 200 meters. This means unequalled toughness, even under water.
