TOKYO, April 2, 2008 – Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the release of four new models in its Edifice range of metallic watches featuring a motor sports theme. The EF-524SP and the three EF-524D models all boast a mechanical dial design and convey a sense of speed. The design of the four models introduced today highlights the intricate watch mechanism, using highly popular chronograph-style dials. Combined with beautifully lustrous metal cases and metal bands, the new EF-524SP and EF-524D watches are the embodiment of a refined design that gives off an aura of pure quality. They fully express the Edifice spirit, based on the theme of “Speed & Intelligence.” Three different types of small dials combine to create a well-balanced and harmonious yet innovative chronograph face which generates a 3D effect and an energetic feel. The large function buttons and the screws on the metal bezel synergize with the face as design accents, emphasizing the mechanical image. The EF-524SP features a black watch face that uses carbon fiber and a bezel finished with a black ion plating,* a combination which enhances the 3D appearance. The EF-524D comes in three different models, one featuring an intrepid black face, another a chic wine red face, and the third an elegant white face.

* Ion Plating: A surface treatment method in which a toughened membrane, made using ionized metals and produced in a vacuum, is applied as a coating. It has excellent abrasion resistance and is extremely rust resistant.
